Springers play in Austin Tourney

COLD SPRING, Minn. – The Cold Spring Springers went 3-1 this past week, losing
at home to Granite City 6-4 on Wednesday, June 27, and then winning its first
three games at the Spamtown MN Baseball Challenge in Austin. The Springers
defeated
Cold
Spring raised its season record to 23-5 overall and 12-1 in the Lakewood
League.
Ben
Griffin was 3-for-5 to lead the Springers in the 6-4 loss to
Rick
Burtzel (5-1) pitched a complete game and struck out four batters to help the
Springers to a 10-5 win over
Zach
Femrite (10-0) struck out eight batters to earn the win in Saturday’s first
game, while Steve Huls and Ben Griffin contributed three hits.
In the second game, Andy Bulson (4-3) pitched
a complete game and struck out five batters, while Gary Kiess and Rick Burtzel
each had RBI singles.

Springers are scheduled to travel to the Coors Light Classic in
